Central Wyoming College’s Agriculture and Equine faculty recently attended the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) convention in San Antonio, Texas. The event provided an opportunity for faculty members Aften Fegler, Jessie Whitlock, Keith Duren, and Amanda Winchester to participate in professional development workshops and network with educators from across the nation.
The NAAE Convention is held in conjunction with ACTE’s CareerTech VISION. ACTE’s CareerTech VISION is the must-attend event for career and technical education (CTE) professionals.
“The NAAE conference was one of the most enlightening and valuable events I have attended. It brought together a diverse group of attendees from various fields, all united by a shared passion for becoming better, more creative, and innovative educators in the agricultural field,” said Jessie Whitlock.
“The conference allowed each of us to find the workshop that we wanted to attend. That way, we could grow as teachers and gain new ideas to implement in our classes,” said Amanda Winchester, Instructor of Agriculture at CWC. “It made such a difference for all of us.”
Aften Fegler, CWC’s Instructor of Equine Studies and Rustler Complex Event Coordinator described the convention as transformational. “Being surrounded by thousands of educators with the common goal of bettering themselves to impact their students, programs, and communities positively was a life-changing experience,” said Fegler. “This is a conference I encourage every educator in agricultural education to attend, every administrator to support, and every advocate to explore.”
The faculty’s engagement at the convention underscores CWC’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, innovative education in agriculture and equine studies.
